Steps for green lighting

Use of Day Light - Try to use maximum day light. Lighting decisions should be take well in advance before finalizing your project.
Light source - Use the most energy efficient light sources that have high luminous efficacy. High output LEDs / Cold Fluorescent / T5 fluorescent / compact fluorescent /ceramic metal halide.
New Generation Lamps - Consider using long-life lamps such as LEDs and long-life fluorescent which have a life of 50,000 hours.
High Life Output - Select light fittings with high Light Output Ratio's.
Control Systems - Use lighting control systems in association with dimming electronic control gear that allows switching and dimming of lighting installations. This is an obvious way of energy saving. Daylight sensing and compensation systems can also make a significant contribution.
